Costs of owning a website:3

In addition to the tuition fees above, indicative costs of owning and maintaining your own website are:
  • For leasing your website URL (its domain name): about NZ$20 per year for a .com website (recommended)
  • For having your website hosted: about NZ$1 a week for the one we recommend. This includes ample storage to hold a respectable website and is based in New Zealand, or at your choice either the USA or the UK. It is simple to sign up, simple to use, and—best of all—there is no limit on how much traffic you can have to your site. An unusual bonus.
  • For website editing software: The course is based around Web Page Maker at US$49.

There are many aspects to the Three Bears Method website development course for Writers that I like:

  • One particularly strong aspect is how Jem and Gracie guide you through the whole concept of marketing yourself as a fiction writer. There is a lot of valuable marketing advice in their lessons which you can utilise in the development of an active marketing plan for your fiction work; a marketing plan which will be underpinned by the website you develop during this course.
  • Another excellent aspect is when you publish your site live on the internet for the first time! It's not as complicated as many of us think, using a simple, strong website programme like Web Page Maker, and in fact the whole process turns out to be very empowering and exciting.
I recommend this course to any writer prepared to invest a modest amount of time and—compared to many other options—a relatively small amount of money to promote their work, build readership, and connect with readers via their own website.
